Home Remedies for Acne

Through my years of research of fighting acne (as I've suffered it severely myself, eek!), I have come across a few DIY remedies that work wonderfully at killing silly pimples! Some are delicious, and some are plain gross, but all and all they do wonders to my skin! I must note that these worked with my skin, but may not work with yours. I'm also not an expert, so take all with precaution. Here are some of my favourites:

  • Apple Cider Vinegar
This one is a stinker, but only used in small amounts. Apply a bit over a blemish once or twice a day, and don't rinse off. I've also make face scrubs with this including green tea, sugar, honey and lemon. All key ingredients to zapping zits, so might as well hit them hard!

  • Lemon
Lemon does wonders! Even having a glass of water with lemon every day is so beneficial! Dab some lemon on your blemishes once a day, or before bed and leave on. To me it stings, but I just think that means it's doing it's job!

  • Green Tea Again, green tea as a beverage is also so so beneficial, but also to most, quite unpleasant to drink. If so, apply it to your spots in liquid form or freeze some into ice cubes and apply. The ice cubes will also reduce inflammation.

  • Honey
Make a mask with honey by mixing with some mustard. I know, the smell will be hard to stand, but it's worth it. Apply to your face, leave for 15 minutes, and rinse. You can also make a scrub using honey and brown sugar.

  • Tea Tree Oil
I like to apply this to my skin whilst having a nice, steamy bath so it gets into my pores really well.

Most of all, it is extremely important to have a day and night ritual of cleansing and moisturizing the face. I always used to be too lazy to do this, but as soon as I started, I started seeing changes straight away! Also, try to not touch your skin during the day as much as possible to keep bacteria away from causing more nasty pimples. Remember to only do face masks once a week or else the skin will get irritated.

Herbal Essences Honey I'm Strong Shampoo and Conditioner Review

Another product I love! I've never been a fan of Herbal Essences as all they seemed to do was make my hair smell extremely scrumptious instead of treating it. But this collection is ah-may-zing!

On the bottles it says that your hair will be 10x stronger in just one wash. And I was like pfffft, as if. But it literally does just that. I used to have massive amounts of breakage in the shower and while brushing, but now I hardly get anything! It also makes my hair super super soft and silky. And the smell is crazy good.

My hair condition is quite dry and dead on the ends from colouring my hair blonde.

Nars Pressed Powder Beach Review

Absolutely love this powder. Laurenbeautyy had put in a good word about it so I was interested in trying it! It's perfect if are looking for a finishing powder to matte the face and set foundation rather than a cover up.

The shade that I bought was beach, which I think works well with medium light to medium skin tones.

Jimmy Choo by Jimmy Choo Perfume Review!

This is my second bottle, and I am in-love!
Jimmy Choo's perfumes are so unique and individual. Never have I found a scent that is so me before!

It is such a feminine, not too strong scent, with noticeable notes of mandarin and orchid. I wear it day and night, but this one is definitely a winner for night wear in my perspective. I also adore the bottle shape and colour.

In the photos below, you can see that I bought mine in a pack including the body lotion. I was surprised at how long-lasting and strong the scent of the body lotion was. Works just as a perfume on your skin, and softens at the same time!
